I'm a dancer and I've been dancing for 11 years.
I can do my right and left splits, but not middle. My extensions are awful.. let me explain. I can bring my leg up to my head with my hand.. but once I let go my leg drops to a little above 90. I would love to be able to hold my leg up to the side & front but as of right now its impossible. does anyone know any websites that would teach me exercises and conditioning to help me out. these websites need to be for flexible people please. or could anyone elxplain exercises and stretches to help? Also, while we're at it.. how can I work on hip flexiblity? Mostly for my center stretches. Thanks a lot! |

Two things are happening here:
you either haven't developed the muscle to hold your leg higher, in which case you need to hold your leg as high as you can for five minutes straight and it will soon increase in height. It also might help to wear ankle weights while doing this. Or you aren't working those muscles to there full potential. Which sadly, is the case for a lot of people. |
